Introduction
We made a selection of the three most significant and popular Germ Guardian air purifiers. Looking through numerous models with small differences can become a frustrating and demanding job. That is why we made an effort to present to you the most popular air purifiers with brief analysis and presentation of those details that are crucial for making a decision which device to buy.
There are three models from Germ Guar family that are called: GermGuardian®AC4825E, GermGuardian® AC5250PT, and GermGuardian® AC4300BPTCA. We will provide you with the most important similarities and differences about these devices, so you could make a decision whether you like this group of devices, and which device, in particular, is better suited for your needs.
In the beginning, the most important fact is that Germ Guardian is a True HEPA air purifier with an UV-C light. So if you are interested in this kind of a filter, this is the right place for you.
What do they have in common?
The most important part of this group of air purifiers is most certainly their purification system. We already said that they use a True HEPA filter which is responsible for removing 99.97% of particles that are 0.3 microns.
This filter removes dust particles, pollen and pet dander, so it is very good for allergies and asthma. In combination with True HEPA filter, there is a Charcoal filter that is responsible for odors and it removes them, giving your house a nice and fresh smell.
And finally, we have a UV-C filter that is great in removing airborne bacteria and viruses. This is often known as „sterilization“ process.

If we examine the design, we can see that these purifiers are all made in accordance with standard „tower“ design, which means that they are intended for rooms ranging from 150 to 180 square meters.
It is always good to know that if you want your purifier to work better, you will use it in a smaller room than the manufacturer proposed. We suggest 10-30% smaller room than the coverage range suggests it. Also, it is a good sign is to see that all of these devices are energy certified and that they have a decent warranty and free support.
Even though the filtration process and main features are the most important part of every air purifier, there are numerous details that you should look out for. Below this text, you will find a table which will show you similarities and differences in detail, regarding the Germ Guardian family.

What are the differences?
As you may have already noticed, AC52 is the most powerful device in this group. If you need a device for a larger living room, this is something you might look into.
The controls are digital, the timer is programmable and you get a filter change reminder, which is a very important feature. Other two devices don’t have a 5-year warranty, programmable timer, coverage range, and such an advanced control system.
If we take a closer look at the AC48 we can see that this device has no additional features that will make it especially interesting, but it has a very good filtration system. So if your main goal is to get a good air purifying system, you should look into this device, but if you like your devices to become toys as well then you should consider giving some extra money and examining the perks of other devices.
On the other hand, we have an AC43 which has some additional features like filter change reminder, 5 cleaning levels, and black color, but it lacks performance like in AC48.
- 3-in-1 purification system with a True HEPA filter
- Good price
- Decent design
- Energy efficient
- Good for medium and small spaces
- Warranty and free support
- Doesn’t have pre-filter for large particles
- Made of plastic – quality control issues
- The device emits plastic like smells in the beginning
- Some users reported serious malfunctions for the devices AC48 and AC52
Conclusion
Germ Guardian is an interesting group of air purifiers which are intended to be a cheaper option for people who have limited budgets. Unfortunately, that means that the quality is somewhat compromised.
We noticed that a small number of devices have had malfunctions, and some even caught on fire. The good thing about these devices is the fact that they are widely used and tested, so you always know what you are getting. The filtration system is very good, without pre-filter for large particles which will downgrade life-span of True HEPA filter.
If you want a device that is fully tested, and you don’t have enough money for anything fancy and high-tech, air purifiers from the Germ Guardian group can be a good fit for you.
